2020 is a milestone year for all of us who belong to Beehive Federal Credit Union.  The state of our Credit Union is sound and financially stable.  A few of our highlights include:
 
  • This year we celebrate our 60th anniversary.
  • A 5-Star rating from Bauer Financial for the last 8 consecutive years, and 26 of the last 29 years.
  • Over $317 million in assets and we are still growing steady, conservative, and responsible.
  • Over 31,000 members and you are still treated as our #1 member.
  • Popular higher dividend Missionary and Student saving account offerings.
  • Local Business Discounts when paying with your Beehive debit or credit card.
  • 4 branch offices in Rexburg, Rigby and Idaho Falls with a new branch to open in Meridian later this year.
  • Exceptional and competent leadership and service-oriented employees.
  • Dedicated Board of Directors and proficient Supervisory Committee.
From those who serve as your Board of Directors, we thank you for the success of our credit union which you co-own. If the economy remains strong, we anticipate 2020 to experience the same accomplishments we achieved during 2019.

CEO's Report

On May 13th of this year, Beehive Federal Credit Union will experience our 60th birthday. Not many financial institutions have enjoyed successful operations for that long. We will celebrate this special anniversary in Porter Park at the Beehive Pavilion with the biggest ever Beehive “Member Only” Annual Picnic on June 25th, headlined by a 90-minute performance from 1964 The Tribute. Watch for more details in the coming weeks on our website, in email correspondence, and in our branches.

April 15th will mark my 35th anniversary as CEO of Beehive Federal Credit Union. It has been a privilege and honor for me and each employee to serve Beehive members in the past many years. We love serving you and helping you with your financial needs. We appreciate your willingness to join together to create the strength of our member-owned financial cooperative. We continue to serve our traditional membership field which consists of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we encourage you to tell others about the unique nature of Beehive.

FREE Online Fraud Prevention Training
With widespread community and family health concerns also comes the need to remain vigilant to protect your personal and financial information.  Crooks are always on the lookout to take advantage of an otherwise bad situation.  For this reason, you will notice that fraudulent offers, including phishing and spamming, have increased.  People may call or email and try to get you to provide them with your personal financial information.  To help Beehive members with this, we are now partnering with a company called, www.knowbe4.com, to provide you with a FREE online training system, which may help you recognize and be protected from some of the most basic threats.  To access this FREE training, go to:

Verification vs. Scam

People love convenience. One-click purchasing, easy storage of card and ticket information, location services, and more! To participate, however, you must walk through the gauntlet of “the setup”. Everywhere you turn you are using your email and/or phone number to sign-in, turn on, select, opt-in, and save your sensitive information. With so many services, aren’t you glad you have an email and phone number that you can use to keep everything straight? Yeah, scammers are glad, too! If you get a random email or text asking for you to verify contact information when you did not initiate the change, you can assume you are being scammed! Do not click any links or call the phone number given. These types of scams commonly hide behind a trusted company name to give assurance of legitimacy. If you are unsure, do not hesitate to contact the company directly. Here at Beehive, you can call us 24/7 to confirm the validity of a communication from us. A verification request should not come as a surprise—if it does, then it could be fraudulent. So be sure to carefully monitor your email and phone communications as a first line of defense against these scams.

 
Beehive Employee Awards

The Beehive Board and Management would like to recognize the following employees for their  service:

2019 Employee of the Year—Brycen Sharp
We are pleased to announce that Brycen Sharp is the 2019 Employee of the Year. Brycen has worked for Beehive since 2017.
Brycen’s supervisor had this to say about him:
“Brycen is not only a full-time employee, but a full-time student and newer father who was promoted from an agent to a loan officer. He has soared beyond expectations in his position. Brycen was #1 in the credit union for loan volume in 2019 at $5.1 million in consumer loan dollars. He also had PERFECT 5’s on all of his mystery shops in 2019.”
Brycen is eager to learn, take on new challenges, and is totally committed to the Beehive brand of member experience.
 
2019 Member Advocate of the Year—Lynda Forsgren
Lynda Forsgren has worked at Beehive since 2006. She started her career at Beehive as an MSR and was later promoted to Consumer Loan Officer. Lynda’s member advocacy shines when it comes to helping members navigate the difficult and stressful car-buying process. 
Members love Lynda because she is kind, trustworthy, and has a lot of wisdom to share. She has the voice and demeanor that gives members confidence in her counsel and recommendations. These qualities have helped Lynda gain a following of members who seek her out for financing.
Lynda is consistent and reliable in her efforts to help members with their consumer loan needs. This is reflected in the 1,926 loans she has written since the beginning of 2016, which is the highest total produced by a consumer lender over that period. Her decisioned loans continue to perform at a high rate with on-time payments, evidence of her sound judgment.
 
 
Annual Summer Picnic
Beehive Federal Credit Union’s Annual Summer Picnic will be on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Rexburg Porter Park’s Beehive Pavilion.  Food is free for members, so make sure your children and grandchildren become Beehive members in time to enjoy the festivities. As already mentioned by Beehive's CEO, Shane Berger, to celebrate Beehive 60th birthday, we will enjoy special entertainment.  Come join us for games, family fun, door prizes, and more! Beehive Service Awards
Members of Beehive Federal Credit Union who attend post-secondary schools may apply for a Service Award. Because we are a service-based organization, we are interested in providing awards to those who have given exemplary service in school, church, community, charity, or other organizations. Consideration will be given to those students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Applications are available at www.beehive.org/service-award and must be either emailed to krowe@beehive.org or returned to any branch to the attention of Karen Rowe by April 10, 2020. If you would like additional information about the Beehive Service Award, please call (208) 656-1022. Applicants must have been a Beehive Federal Credit Union member for a minimum of six months.
